Abstract:
The present invention provides a polymer composition for producing a liquid crystal alignment film, with which a high-quality liquid crystal alignment film can be efficiently produced by expanding the range of light irradiation level at which alignment control capability is stably obtained. More specifically, the present invention provides a composition for producing a liquid crystal alignment film for a lateral field driving-type liquid crystal display element. The present invention also provides a liquid crystal alignment agent and a liquid crystal alignment film that are formed of the composition, and a substrate and liquid crystal display element having the liquid crystal alignment film. The polymer composition according to the present invention contains: (A) at least two polymers having a structure providing photoreactivity and a structure providing liquid crystallinity; (B) a polymer produced using a diamine compound and at least one selected from diisocyanate components and tetracarboxylic acid derivatives; and (C) an organic solvent, wherein, in particular, of the at least two polymers, one of the polymers (A1) and the other one of the polymers (A2) have different amounts of the structure providing photoreactivity.
