To provide a liquid crystal compound, especially an anti-ferroelectric liquid crystal compound, which does not change its hue when left at a room temperature or an elevated temperature for a long time, not to mention at the final purification step of the compound or at the time of blending of a composition or production of a liquid crystal element, a liquid crystal composition, especially an anti-ferroelectric liquid crystal composition and a liquid crystal element using these.
A liquid crystal compound, a liquid crystal composition and a liquid crystal element using these are provided, wherein the hue of the liquid crystal compound stored for one year at a room temperature under a shaded condition, is characterized by a value L representing the color value, a chromaticity value a representing the hue and a value b representing the chroma, obtained through XYZ color specification system which at the tristimulus values based on standard calorimetric system provided in JISZ 8722, among which value b has an absolute value of 0.1 or smaller.
