Abstract:
To provide a polymerizable optically active compound with large spirally inductive force, having necessary properties including high compatibility with other compounds and optical anisotropy, to provide a polymer of this compound having various excellent properties including transparency, to provide a molded form with optical anisotropy made from the polymer, and to provide a liquid crystal desplay device containing the polymer.
The optically active compound is represented by formula(1): Ra-Y-(A-Z)m-A-Y-Rbor formula(2): Rc-Y-(A-Z)m-A-Y-Rc( wherein, Rato Rchave each a specific chemical formula; Y is a single bond or 1-20C alkylene; A is 1,4-cyclohexylene group or the like; Z has a specific chemical formula; and m is an integer of 1-6 ).
