This liquid crystal display device has data signal lines DL11-DLn, scanning signal lines GL1-GLm, a pixel electrode 6, an opposing electrode 11, and a data signal line drive circuit 1. A set of data signal lines DL11, DL12, DL13 corresponding to RGB is connected to an output signal line D1 via a selection switch part 33. The data signal line drive circuit 1 time-divides data signals corresponding to RGB within one horizontal scanning period and outputs them to the output signal line D1. As the data signal lines DL11, DL12, DL13 corresponding to RGB are sequentially selected by the selection switch part 33, the data signal is supplied to each data signal line. Each output signal line D1-Dn/3 is connected to the data signal line drive circuit 31 via a first switch part and connected to each other via a second switch part 32.
