Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain good images having a high grade without entailing the degradation in a contrast ratio by the light leakage at the time of a black display of even an NW mode by specifying the way of connecting thin film transistors(TFTRs) between picture element electrodes and source electrodes. CONSTITUTION:This device is disposed with 480 rows of gate electrodes 1 and 721 lines of source electrodes 2 in a matrix form and is formed with 480X720 pieces of the picture element electrodes (i, j) 3 (i, j are >=1 integer) by being enclosed with the arbitrary i-th and (i+1)th gate electrodes and the j-th and (j+1)th source electrodes. A substrate connected with the TFTRs is so formed that signals are fed to the picture element electrodes (1 to 320, j) among these electrodes from the j-th source electrodes and to the picture element electrodes (321 to 480, j) from the (j+1)th source electrodes. A drastic increase in the potential difference between the picture element electrodes and source electrodes having the possibility of generating the reverse-tilt state is averted in this way and, therefore, the generation of discrimination line is obviated.
