To provide a liquid crystal display device constituted so that a display picture which cannot be viewed as it is can be repeatedly and optionally viewed regardless of an object of the use.
This device is provided with a glass substrate 27 obtained by forming a transparent electrode 27a on one surface, a glass substrate 26 obtained by forming a transparent electrode 26a on one surface and arranged so that the electrode 26a is faced to the electrode 27a of the substrate 27, liquid crystal 28 interposed between one surface of the substrate 27 and one surface of the substrate 26 and a counter polarizing plate 25 provided only on the other surface of the substrate 27. Besides, it is provided with a viewing-side polarizing plate 24 set in a polarizing direction orthogonally crossed to the polarizing direction of the plate 25 so as to cover one part of the other surface of the substrate 26.
