In the liquid crystal display device having a display body containing at least a liquid crystal held between a pair of substrates and having a hologram color filter, at least the substrate in the back side of the liquid crystal display body (in the opposite side to the observer) of the substrate pair is a plastic substrate. In the device, the color filter of a volume reflection hologram made of a photopolymerizable resin is disposed on the face of the substrate in the opposite side to the liquid crystal.
