Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restore fluctuation in a voltage occurring due to hold capacity in a gate selection period and to reduce cross talk in the horizontal direction by setting a gate voltage so that charging to a gate electrode is ended in the gate selection period.
SOLUTION: A TFT(thin film transistor) is constituted of a source electrode 2a, the gate electrode 3a and a drain electrode 11. A pixel electrode 10 is connected electrically to the drain electrode 11. Further, a gate insulation film 13 and a semiconductor film 12 are held between the gate electrode and the source, drain electrodes. That is, when the size of the TFT is revised so that related to the width W of the source electrode and a distance L between the source electrode and the drain electrode, their ratio W/L becomes twice of a design value that the charging of the pixel electrode is ended in the usual gate selection period, the on current value of the TFT is raised to nearly twice also. Thus, the charging period to the drain electrode becomes nearly half, and the charging is ended in the gate selection period.
