Abstract:

To discriminatingly use materials etc., suitably for states wherein a plurality of transparent electrode layers are used in an in-plane switching type liquid crystal device.

A lower transparent panel substrate 20 has a TFT forming layer 40 formed on a buffer layer 32 on a lower glass substrate 30, and a flattening film 44 is formed on its gate film layer 36. On the flattening film 44, a pixel electrode layer 60 connected to the source of the TFT element is formed by using a transparent electrode layer containing ITO. An intermediate insulation layer is formed on the pixel electrode layer and a common electrode layer 70 which is connected to a common line 50 and has a slit 71 is formed thereupon by using a transparent electrode containing IZO. The transparent electrode layer containing IZO has good working precision and the slit 71 can precisely be bored. The transparent electrode layer containing ITO, on the other hand, has good connectivity with an external terminal.
