To provide a liquid crystal display device which secures electrostatic capacity of an auxiliary capacitance part and, moreover, has a wide display effective area of a pixel.
The liquid crystal display device includes: a thin film transistor in which a gate electrode is formed on the under layer side of a gate insulation film and a drain electrode and a source electrode are formed on the above layer side of the gate insulation film; and an auxiliary capacitance electrode formed on the same layer as the gate electrode. The liquid crystal display device includes: a metal thin film formed so as to be superimposed on the auxiliary capacitance electrode via the gate insulation film; an interlayer insulation film which is formed on the above side of the source electrode and the metal thin film, and has contact holes respectively on at least a part of the upper surface of the source electrode and on at least a part of the upper surface of the metal thin film; and a transparent pixel electrode formed on the above layer side of the interlayer insulation film, and electrically connected with the source electrode and the metal thin film via the contact holes. A plurality of contact holes formed on the above layer side of the metal thin film are formed on an area where the metal thin film is superimposed on the pixel electrode.
