Abstract:
To provide a liquid crystal display device in which a polarizing plate, which does not cause light leakage even with a big screen and can suppress degradation of display quality, is disposed.
The liquid crystal display device includes a front polarizing plate, a liquid crystal panel, and a rear polarizing plate in this order from the side of a display surface. At least one of the front polarizing plate and the rear polarizing plate has a laminate structure including a first polarizer and a second polarizer. The first polarizer is composed of one polarizer and includes more areas having a low polarization degree than the second polarizer. The second polarizer is composed of a plurality of polarizers disposed side by side on the same surface.
