To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of improving display quality.
A liquid crystal display device comprises: first gate wiring including a gate electrode; second gate wiring extending in substantially parallel to the first gate wiring; a semiconductor layer facing the gate electrode on a first insulator film covering the first gate wiring and the second gate wiring; a shield electrode facing the second gate wiring on the first insulator film and formed of the same material as the semiconductor layer; a source electrode and a drain electrode that contact the semiconductor layer; a pixel electrode having a plurality of main pixel electrodes formed on a second insulator film covering the shield electrode, the source electrode and the drain electrode, and electrically connected to the drain electrode; and a common electrode including a plurality of main common electrodes that are formed on the second insulator film and alternately arranged with the main pixel electrodes. The pixel electrode or the common electrode is formed of a transparent conductive material and has a shield part extending in a position facing the shield electrode.
