Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device that has light resistance through a polymer layer provided on an optical alignment film and also has alignment of liquid crystal stabilized, and is superior in display quality.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal cell constituted including a pair of substrates and a liquid crystal layer held between the pair of substrates. At least one of the pair of substrates has a polymer layer, an optical alignment film, and an electrode in order from the liquid crystal layer side. The optical alignment film aligns liquid crystal molecules horizontally on an optical alignment film surface, and the polymer layer is formed by polymerizing a monomer. The one of the pair of substrates has an interdigital electrode and a flat plate type electrode, and the liquid crystal layer is charged in a liquid crystal dripping manner.
