Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device addressing a problem of black irregularity in a screen corner.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal held between a TFT substrate 100 and a counter substrate, in which the TFT substrate includes a pixel formed between scanning lines extending in a first direction and image signal lines extending in a second direction orthogonal to the first directions. In the liquid crystal display device, a second electrode is formed on an insulation film formed on a first electrode; the liquid crystal is driven by applying a voltage between the first electrode and the second electrode; one of the first and second electrodes is a common electrode 109 and the other is a pixel electrode 111; a signal voltage to the pixel electrode 111 is switched by a TFT; an ion trap electrode 50 is formed in the same layer as a gate electrode 101 of the TFT; a common electrode opening 1092 is formed in the common electrode 109 corresponding to the ion trap electrode 50; and the common electrode opening 1092 has a diameter in a direction parallel to the scanning line and a diameter in a direction perpendicular to the scanning line.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
