Abstract:
To prevent changes in characteristics of a liquid crystal due to a temperature change without drastically changing brightness of a display screen.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes: a liquid crystal panel; a plurality of light sources disposed on the back of the liquid crystal panel; a temperature sensor disposed on the back side of the liquid crystal panel and detecting temperature in the device; and a control circuit adjusting a duty ratio of a drive signal by pulse width modulation based on the temperature in the device detected by the temperature sensor so as to control lighting of the plurality of light sources. When the temperature in the device is within a predetermined temperature range, the control circuit updates the duty ratio of the current drive signal so as to gradually decrease the difference between the current duty ratio per unit time and a target duty ratio preliminarily determined with respect to the temperature in the device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
