Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the crack of a liquid crystal panel occurring in the concentrated load to a case relating to the packaging structure of the liquid crystal of a small-sized electronic apparatus, such as pager, by forming a partial notch to a liquid crystal retaining member in correspondence to the position where the deflection quantity of the case by the concentrated load is large.
CONSTITUTION: The liquid crystal retaining member 41 consists of a metallic plate and is of a three-way frame shape to press the circumferential surfaces on the three sides of the liquid crystal panel. This liquid crystal retaining member 41 consists of a one long-side frame part 42 and right and left short-side frame parts 43, 44. The part corresponding to the central part along the display window of the upper case is formed as the notch 45 where the above-mentioned part is removed. Namely, the edge of the liquid crystal retaining member 41 which is the direct cause for the crack of the liquid crystal by the concentrated load is eliminated. As a result, the crack of the liquid crystal panel when the concentrated load is applied to the central part along the display window of the upper case is averted.
