Abstract:
PURPOSE:To allow the liquid crystal display of input data and the output to an external processor by providing a polarizing plate to one surface side on the outside of a liquid crystal, providing a semi-transmission type reflecting and polarizing plate of a BPF type to the other surface side, and providing a two-dimensional sensor to the outside of this polarizing plate. CONSTITUTION:The liquid crystal cell 4 constituted by sealing and crimpling the liquid crystal between a pair of transparent substrates 1 and 2 having plural electrode groups is provided and the polarizing plate 5 is provided to the front surface side of this cell 4. A film having the performance to allow the selection and transmission of electromagnetic waves having >=5,500Angstrom wavelength on the rear side of the semi- transmission type reflecting polarizing plate 6 as the BPF 7 is provided on the other surface side on the outside of the cell 4. The two-dimensional sensor 9 formed with the optical sensors consisting of amorphous Si or amorphous GaAs or single crystal GaAs in a matrix shape is provided on the outside of the polarizing plate 6 on the rear surface side of such liquid crystal display element 8. A contactless input function is provided to this device in this way and the liquid crystal crystal display of the input data thereof and the outputting thereof to the external processor are possible as well.
