Abstract:
PURPOSE:To sufficiently lower the gate wiring resistance of TFT substrates and to improve image quality by forming gate wiring patterns of Al or metal essentially consisting of the Al, and specifying the line width thereof to a specific value. CONSTITUTION:The gate wiring patterns consisting of the gate wirings G1, G2 additive capacitors C and gate electrodes A of thin film transistors (TFTRs) of the liquid crystal display device consisting of the TFTR substrate having the additive capacitors formed between the TFTR and the gate wirings adjacent thereto, a translucent substrate having counter electrodes provided to face this TFTR substrate and a liquid crystal disposed between these two substrates consist of the Al or the metal essentially consisting of the Al and the line width of the gate wiring patterns is specified to >=40mum exclusive of crossing parts. Anodic-oxidation films of the Al or the metal essentially consisting of the Al are included in the gate insulating films of the TFTRs, the insulating films in the above-mentioned crossing parts and the dielectric films of the additive capacitor parts. The wiring resistance is lowered in this way and the gate delay is lessened. The image quality of the liquid crystal display device is thus greatly improved.
