PURPOSE: To provide the liquid crystal display device of simple constitution which can makes a display of high quality.

CONSTITUTION: The screen of simple matrix system liquid crystal display panel LCDs having pixels constituted at the intersections of scanning line electrodes and signal line electrodes is divided into two, and driving circuits which drive the two divided liquid crystal display panels LCD1 and LCD2 are supplied with AC-converted signals which are made opposite in phase to each other. The polarities of two divided driving signals are switched in opposite-phase relation for the liquid crystal display panel LCDs, so noises as an undershoot and an overshoot cancel each other to reduce the waveform distortion of the driving signals, so the display of high quality can be made.
