Abstract:

To prevent a burning phenomenon in a liquid crystal display device using a nonlinear resistance element as a switch element.

A selection period is divided to the first half and the second half, and pulses of opposite polarities are imparted to pixel capacity in the first half and the second half. Further, a preparatory write-in period with the same width as the selection period is provided by n unit period (integer of n≥2) before the selection period, and the data to be written in the pixel capacity belonging to a data line before n lines are written in the pixel capacity by a voltage of opposite polarity to the voltage of a first write-in period in the second half of the unit period of the top of the preparatory write-in period, and the opposite data of the data to be written in the pixel capacity belonging to the data line before n lines are written in the pixel capacity by the voltage of the opposite polarity to the voltage written in the pixel capacity in the period of the second half in the first half of the unit period.
