To improve the cooling effect for a polarizing plate and a liquid crystal panel without noise by a fan by making air flow generated by the fan blow off the polarizing plate or the surface of the liquid crystal panel obliquely by a wind direction guiding means.
By providing the axial fan 6 under optical panels 2 and 3 and making the air flow 14 generated from the fan 6 flow to space between the polarizing plate 2 and the liquid crystal panel 3, the light emitting surface of the plate 2 and the panel 3 are cooled. In this device, a taper member 10 and a plate member 11 are provided as the wind direction guiding means for making the air flow 14 generated from the fan 6 blow off the plate 2 or the panel 3 obliquely. By making wind blow off the surface of the panel obliquely by the wind direction guiding means 10 and 11, the air flow 14 only passing through the space between the plate 2 and the panel 3 in the conventional device is made to blow off the surface of the panel, and air quantity concerning cooling is increased.
