PURPOSE: To improve a value added of a transmittive liquid crystal display device by providing a filter for deciding the color of transmittive light for display of the liquid crystal display device, permitting users thus easy change of the transmittive display light optionally depending on the purpose and environment, etc. for using the liquid crystal display device.

CONSTITUTION: A color filter 2 is provided attachably and detachably by providing a filter guide 1 to between a liquid crystal element 4 and a fluorescence discharge tube type light source 3. By inserting the color filter to between the liquid crystal display element 4 and the light source 3, the color emitted from the light source 3 changes depending on the color filter 2. Thus, the displayed color can be changed. An attaching and detaching port 6 for attaching and detaching the color filter 2 is provided to a frame 5. The value added of a liquid crystal display device is improved by this constitution since the transmittive display color is changeable by permitting users optional exchange of the color filter 2 depending on the purpose and environment, etc. for using the liquid crystal display device.
