Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a liquid crystal display element whose contrast is high. CONSTITUTION:This element is constituted by packaging a scanning electrode 3 which in one of the electrodes formed on glass substrates 1 and 2 with an element 5 for dropping a voltage. The element 5 may be a resistance or the one in which diode is combined. In this constitution, a driving voltage drops when the element is turned on, and the driving voltage drops when the element is turned off, by the dropping of the voltage on the scanning electrode 3, so that the value of driving voltage ratio VON/VOFF is larger than heretofore. Therefore, the contrast of the liquid crystal is high.
