CONSTITUTION: In a liquid crystal display element provided with a pair of bases 1, 2 having electrodes and molecule orienting layers successively formed thereon, at least one of which is transparent, the bases being arranged in parallel to each other with the molecule orienting layers 5, 6 being mutually opposed; and a liquid crystal composite 11 sealed between the bases 1, 2, when the resistivity, resistance value and capacity value of the liquid crystal composite 11 are ρLC, RLC, and CLC, and the resistivity, resistance value, and capacity value of the molecule orienting layer are ρA, RA, and CA, respectively, both ρLC and ρA, are less than 1×107Ω.m, and the relation of ρLC<ρA and RLC/(RLC+RA)< CA)/(CLC+CA) is satisfied.
