To provide a manufacturing method of a liquid crystal display that avoids inconveniences accompanying difficulty in controlling the amount of dropping of liquid crystal.
This method includes a step for preparing a pair of base plates comprising a liquid crystal display region whose diagonal length be between 1 inch to 5 inches, where a plurality of columnar spacers are formed within the liquid crystal display region, of at least one of the base plates and form sealing adhesive having the width between 0.4 mm and 1.0 mm surrounding the liquid crystal display region to the base material on which the columnar space is formed; a step for dropping liquid crystal to have the surface lower than the level of the columnar spacer within the region of the base material surrounded by the sealing adhesive, a step for pressing each base plate, in a direction of their being closer, after arranging one of the base plates facing opposite to the other base plate, and a step for curing the sealing adhesive, in a state where the spacer has a level such that the percentage given by dividing the level without pressing by the level with pressing is 108-113%.
