To provide a liquid crystal display panel capable of preventing a sealing material from entering a display area by devising a sealing process for sealing a liquid crystal injection hole, and to provide a method of manufacturing the liquid crystal display panel.
The liquid crystal display panel is constituted by enclosing peripheral portions of a pair of substrates 11 and 12 by a seal material 16 except a formation part of a liquid crystal injection hole 15, charging a liquid crystal in an area enclosed by the seal material 16, and sealing the liquid crystal injection hole 15 with a sealing material 19. At the liquid crystal injection hole 15, a bank member 18 which is substantially as long as the liquid crystal injection hole 15 is wide is formed along the width of the liquid crystal injection hole 15. Spherical spacers 20 of predetermined sizes are mixed with the sealing material 19, and 0DSG is satisfied, where G is the interval between the pair of substrates 11 and 12, D is the interval between the bank member and one substrate 15, and S is the diameter of the spherical spacer 20 mixed with the sealing material 19.
