To provide a polymer-stabilized liquid crystal element capable of improving thermal and dynamic stability and lowering driving electric voltage.
This polymer-stabilized liquid crystal composition containing a liquid crystalline (meth)acrylate, a non-liquid crystalline (meth)acrylate and a ferroelectric liquid crystal is obtained by curing the above acrylates by ultraviolet light exposure while impressing bi-polar pulse wave. It is preferable that the non-liquid crystalline (meth)acrylate is the non-liquid crystalline acrylate showing a low anchoring power to the low molecular weight liquid crystal. The liquid crystalline (meth)acrylate is preferably any of a single functional liquid crystalline acrylate or a polyfunctional liquid crystalline acrylate, and at least any one of them is contained.
