Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide the polymer network type or polymer dispersion type liquid crystal display element dispersed with liquid crystal contg. dyestuff. CONSTITUTION:A liquid crystal layer to be clamped between a pair of substrates 11 and 12 provided with electrodes is constituted of a film consisting of a polymer network type liquid crystal formed by dispersing a liquid crystal 14 into the three-dimensional network structure formed of a polymer or a polymer dispersion type liquid crystal formed by dispersing the granular liquid crystal into the matrix of the polymer. Anthraquinone dyestuff alone or a mixture consisting of only the anthraquinone dyestuff is incorporated into the liquid crystal. The dispersion structure consisting of the liquid crystal and the polymer is formed by irradiating the mixture composed of a photosetting resin and the liquid crystal contg. the dyestuff with light.
