Abstract:
To provide a liquid crystal lens with which it is possible to suppress disconnection, a head-mounted display equipped with the liquid crystal lens, and polarizing sunglasses equipped with the liquid crystal lens.SOLUTION: Provided is a liquid crystal lens comprising a first substrate, a second substrate located facing the first substrate, and a liquid crystal layer which is sandwiched by the first substrate and the second substrate and includes liquid crystal molecules. The first substrate includes a Fresnel lens and a first electrode in order toward the liquid crystal layer side, and the second substrate includes a second electrode, the Fresnel lens including a Fresnel shaped part having a plurality of concentrically arranged annular lens surfaces and a flat part extending in the concentrically radial direction and having a flat surface intersecting at least one of the plurality of annular lens surfaces. The plurality of annular lens surfaces are arranged on the liquid crystal layer-side plane of the Fresnel shaped part and constitute a rugged surface, and the flat surface is located on the liquid crystal layer-side plane of the flat part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2A
