Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a liquid crystal orienting agent which realizes a liquid crystal cell with little afterimages and having a high voltage holding rate.
CONSTITUTION: This agent consists of (a) 100 pts.wt. of at least one polymer material selected from among polymers obtd. by the reaction of tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride and diamine compd., imidized polymers of these, and isoimidized polymers of these, and (b) 5×10-5 to 5×10-2 pts.wt. of at least one compd. selected from among compds. containing one carboxylic acid group in the molecule, compds. having one carboxylic acid anhydride group in the molecule, and compds. containing one tertiary amine group in the molecule.
