PURPOSE: To enable a user to satisfactorily see a picture even in a bright room by attaching a screen having the periphery shielded from light onto the same optical axis as a projector in the front of the projector.
CONSTITUTION: In a cylindrical projector 18, a light source part provided with a concave reflection plate 12 and a condenser lens 13, which converts the light of a lamp 11 to parallel rays, on both sides of the lamp 11 is provided, and the light of this light source part is transmitted through a liquid crystal picture display device 14, and a focusing part 17 is so provided that this light is condensed by a projection lens 15 and is thrown and focused on a screen 16 formed as an independent body. A screen box 21 consisting of a peripheral light shielding part 19 and a screen 20 is detachably attached on the same optical axis as the projector 18. Thus, the picture is satisfactorily seen without an influence of external light even in a bright room when the screen box is attached to the liquid crystal picture projector.
