PURPOSE: To seal easily a liquid crystal by grooving a substrate in which the liquid crystal is sealed, to prevent the displacement of the liquid crystal due to the centrifugal force of the high-speed rotation of a liquid crystal storage medium.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal storage medium 1 is provided with two substrates 17 and 11, and the substrate 17 has plural concentric circle-shaped or spiral grooves 171. The substrate 17 is provided with an alignment passivation layer 14, an electrode absorber reflector layer 15, and a thermal control layer 16, and the substrate 11 is provided with a transparent electrode 12 and an alignment passivation layer 13. A liquid crystal medium 18 is charged in grooves 171 to join two substrates 17 and 11, thus sealing the liquid crystal medium 18.
