PURPOSE: To enlarge the measuring range of a liquid detecting sensor by providing a liquid guidance means for guiding a liquid to be detected, on a liquid contact use interface, in the sensor having said interface which has exposed a core of an optical fiber.
CONSTITUTION: An optical core fiber 1 is brought to cast molding by a resin block 2, and by eliminating a covering material of a part of the optical fiber 1, a core 1c of the optical fiber is exposed. Subsequently, a dish-like body 5 is provided so that a liquid to be detected is guided to this exposed core, namely, a liquid contact use interface. In such a way, even if a generated part of a leakage liquid in a member to be detected such as an OF cable, etc. is separated to some extent from a position where this liquid detecting sensor S is installed, its liquid W can be guided to the liquid contact use interface through the dish-like body 5, therefore, the measuring range of the sensor can be enlarged.
