To obtain a liquid detergent composition, capable of manifesting the viscosity for facilitating the coating and a sufficient coating detergency required to effectively remove any foulings causing practical problems in the life such as oil, mud, stain foulings by coating a severely fouled part therewith and then washing the part in a washing machine in relation to washing of mainly textile products and effectively removing the foulings without using the washing machine or other detergents even by coating the textile products therewith and subsequently rinsing the products with water.

This composition contains (a) 10-20 wt.% alkanolamine salt of oleic acid and (b) 0.1-5 wt.% chelating agent, has a pH 8-12 and is obtained by regulating the viscosity of the composition within the range of 20 to 1,000 mPa.s at a temperature within the range of 5-30°C and the viscosity ratio (viscosity at 5°C/the viscosity at 25°C) to ≤1 by further including (c) 1-5 wt.% water-soluble solvent therein.
