Title:
LIQUID DEVELOPER FOR ELECTROSTATIC LATENT IMAGE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0368963
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of a foul odor from a liq. developer at the time of fixing and to make the developer adaptable to high-speed bulk copying by using silicone oil and specified fluorine-contg. polysiloxane as the liq. carrier of the developer.

CONSTITUTION: When toner particles are dispersed in a liq. insulating carrier to obtain a liq. developer for an electrostatic latent image, silicone oil and fluorine-contg. polysiloxane represented by formula I (where n:m=(70:30)-(0:100)) are used as the liq. carrier. Since the silicone oil has relatively high thermal stability, unlike a developer using the conventional isoparaffin solvent the resulting developer does not generate a foul odor at the time of fixing and does not pollute the environment even at the time of high-speed bulk copying. The fluorine-contg. polysiloxane used by 0.1wt.% of the amt. of the liq. carrier prevents foaming and a clear image can be formed.
