To provide a liquid development electrophotographic apparatus capable of improving print quality by ensuring stable transfer of toner by a simple means.

The liquid development electrophotographic apparatus 1 includes: at least one photoreceptor 3, which forms an image developed by developer 21 containing solvent 20 and charged toner 22 dispersed in the solvent 20; an intermediate transfer body 5, which has a peripheral face charged to a polarity opposite to that of the toner 22 and circulated, and which receives the transfer image onto the peripheral face 39 from the photoreceptor 3 at a photoreceptor transfer position A; a backup roller 7, which is disposed opposite the peripheral face 39 at a medium transfer position B and transfers the image to a printing medium 47 by pressing the running medium to the peripheral face 39. In the liquid development electrophotographic apparatus 1, an additional charger 41 is disposed upstream of a medium transfer position B in the direction of movement of the peripheral face 39, downstream of the photoreceptor transfer position A, and opposite the peripheral face 39 so as not to be in contact with the image.
