To provide a liquid disposal method for an inkjet, which is used for disposing of a first printing liquid containing a color material and a second printing liquid containing a polyvalent metal ion, and which makes the second printing liquid disposed of in the state of being mixable with the first printing liquid or the state of being mixed with it, after the second printing liquid is subjected to polyvalent-metal-ion removing treatment for removing the polyvalent metal ion from the second printing liquid.
Inkjet recording enables a high-quality image with little bleeding to be formed by an ink set which is composed of two kinds of printing liquids with the properties of being flocculated/thickened when mixed together. In the inkjet recording, this liquid disposal method for the inkjet, which is suitable for the downsizing of an apparatus, can suppress the flocculation/thickening of a mixed waste liquid produced in maintenance, and can restrain various troubles of a maintenance unit from being caused by the flocculation/thickening of the mixed waste liquid.
