Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid droplet discharge device capable of suppressing discharge characteristics for liquid droplet from changing owing to a difference in number of piezoelectric conversion members applied with a common drive voltage signals simultaneously without changing the waveform of the common drive voltage signal.SOLUTION: In a liquid droplet discharge device which causes respective pressurized liquid chambers to have pressure change by piezoelectric conversion members as a common drive voltage signal is selectively applied so as to discharge a liquid droplet from a nozzle hole, the piezoelectric conversion members are piezoelectric elements 201 such that the relation between the applied voltage and pressure generated in a pressurized liquid chamber is nonlinear. Then one electrode of each piezoelectric conversion member is applied with a waveform voltage and the other electrode is applied with a fixed voltage from two bias voltage sources 204, 205 through analog switches SW1, SW2 so as to apply the common drive voltage signal, and a bias voltage selection control circuit 206 performs ON/OFF control over the analog switches according to the number of piezoelectric conversion member applied with the common drive voltage signal simultaneously so as to change the voltage value of the fixed voltage.
