To provide a liquid ejecting apparatus capable of preventing waste from staying in the vicinity of a nozzle while stabilizing the pressure of a liquid in a liquid ejecting head, and to provide its control method.
An apparatus includes: a common liquid chamber 24 which is common to each pressure chamber and stores ink; a first pressure chamber 31a and a second pressure chamber 31b which communicate with the common liquid chamber; a first nozzle 30a which communicates with the first pressure chamber and a second nozzle 30b which communicates with the second pressure chamber; a first piezoelectric vibrator 20a which causes pressure fluctuation in ink in the first pressure chamber and a second piezoelectric vibrator 20b which causes pressure fluctuation in ink in the second pressure chamber; and a communication flow path 33 which makes the first pressure chamber communicate with the second pressure chamber. By this arrangement, the flow of ink is generated in the communication flow path by driving the first piezoelectric vibrator and the second piezoelectric vibrator.
