To provide a liquid ejecting device capable of equalizing properties of a piezoelectric vibration element regardless of drive frequency, and to provide a method for controlling the same.
The liquid ejecting device includes a temperature sensor detecting the temperature inside a printer, and a printer controller executing a measurement process of the displacement amount of the piezoelectric vibration element and an aging process driving the piezoelectric vibration element according to the displacement amount measured. The printer controller changes the timing for executing the measurement process of the displacement amount of the piezoelectric vibration element and the aging process of the piezoelectric vibration element according to the temperature detected by the temperature sensor.
