Abstract:
To determine the type of a liquid in a liquid passage.SOLUTION: A liquid ejection device comprises: a sensor having a light emitting unit capable of emitting two types of light of different wavelengths to a liquid in a liquid passage, and a light receiving unit that receives light emitted to the liquid in the liquid passage; and a storage unit that stores a light reception result of the light receiving unit when the two types of light is respectively emitted to the liquid in the liquid passage from the light emitting unit in a case where the type of the liquid in the liquid passage is a first type, and a light reception result of the light receiving unit when the two types of light is respectively emitted to the liquid in the liquid passage from the light emitting unit in a case where the type of the liquid in the liquid passage is a second type. The liquid ejection device determines whether the type of the liquid in the liquid passage is the first type or the second type by comparing light reception results of the light receiving unit when the two types of light is respectively emitted to the liquid in the liquid passage from the light emitting unit, with each of the light reception results stored in the storage unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
