To suppress cost for inspection of nozzle omission in a liquid ejector which ejects ink cured by irradiation of ultraviolet rays from an ejection nozzle.
A liquid which can be cured by irradiation of electromagnetic wave is ejected from the ejection nozzle to a liquid receiving member so as to form an inspection pattern. A surface of the liquid receiving member has a characteristic of repelling the liquid, and the liquid is prevented from penetrating to the inside. The liquid is cured on the surface of the liquid receiving member by irradiating the electromagnetic wave to the liquid ejected to the liquid receiving member. Accordingly, peeling the cured liquid on the surface of the liquid receiving member allows reuse of the liquid receiving member. As the result, change of the liquid receiving member in every inspection of nozzle omission becomes unnecessary, which can suppress the cost of the inspection.
