To provide a liquid filter which makes it possible to replace an element without causing the mixing of an unfiltered liquid and filtered liquid in a filter case.
The liquid filter is provided with; a filter case 11 which has an aperture part 11a on its upper surface and on whose external circumference a liquid-introducing inlet 11b is formed and at whose bottom wall center a case side liquid passage 11c is formed; a bolt main body 16 which is provided at the center of the filter case; and an element 14 which is accommodated in the filter case and fits into the bolt main body. A bolt side liquid passage 16b, the lower end of which communicates with the case side liquid passage, and an upper part communicating hole 16c, which crosses the upper part of the bolt side liquid passage to open the upper part toward the inside of the filter case, are formed in the bolt main body. The upper part communicating hole 16c is formed at the upper part of the bolt main body 16 so that the upper part communicating hole 16c is located at a position which is higher than a liquid level which drops when the element 14 is taken out from the filter case filled with a liquid.
