This liquid jet device comprises a drive signal generation section for generating a drive signal for ejecting a liquid droplet, the head for ejecting a liquid droplet according to the drive signal, a connection line for connecting the drive signal generation section to the head, a measurement section that is adapted to measure a current flowing in the connection line when the drive signal generation section generates the drive signal, and a judgment section for judging a malfunction of the head based on the measured result of the measurement section.
