Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enhance a dust capturing ability by removing liquid from a wet cake to form a dry cake having green strength and sintering the dry cake so as to fuse metal particles and to remove all volatile materials.
CONSTITUTION: A stabilizing suspension of the metal particles is formed in a liquid medium and is passed through a screen 6 as fine as to hold substantially all the particulates so as to form the wet cake, by which the stabilizing suspension is press filtered. As a result, the liquid is removed from the wet cake to form the dry cake having the green strength. The dry cake is then sintered to fuse the metal particles and to remove all the volatile materials, by which the porous metal filter sheet is obtd.
