To provide a liquid level state detection apparatus in which the generation of contamination can be suppressed and accuracy in detecting a liquid level state such as air bubbles in a liquid-state substance can be improved, an automatic analyzer and a liquid level state detection method.
A liquid level state detection apparatus comprises a light irradiation section 102, an imaging section 103 and a detection section 104. The light irradiation section 102 irradiates a container 101 in which a liquid-state substance 1010 is accommodated, and a liquid level of the liquid-state substance 1010 with light. The imaging section 103 captures a video image containing at least color information of light from the container 101 and the liquid-state substance 1010 irradiated with light by the light irradiation section 102. The detection section 104 detects a state of the liquid level using the color information in the video image captured by the imaging section 103.
