Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain an approx. constant damping force throughout the operating range by furnishing a communication hole at the end of a hollow piston to be fitted in a cylinder and by allowing a control rod, which has a special notch installed projecting at the sealing end of the cylinder, to intrude into said hole. CONSTITUTION:This liquid pressure damping device has a cylinder 1 and a hollow piston 2, which is to be inserted therein and whose inside is partitioned by a free piston 5 into a gas chamber 3 and a working chamber 4. A communication hole 10 is provided at the end of this hollow piston 2 into which a control rod 11 installed projecting at the sealing end of the cylinder 1 can be inserted, and between this and the communication hole 10 an orifice 13 will be formed. This control rod 11 is formed by stretching a certain specific notch 11a in the longitudinal direction. That is to say, the notch 11a is formed so that the load generated at the orifice 13 when the rod 11 intrudes into the communication hole 10 will be approx. constant throughout the operating range of the hollow piston 2.
