Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimally control the liquid temperature of an electrolyte which is accumulated in a liquid resistor and circulated. SOLUTION: A liquid resistor controlling apparatus, in which electrolyte contained in a liquid resistor main body 8 and a control signal sent to a starting motor 1, changed by moving a movable electrode 9 and adjusting the distance from a fixed electrode 10, is provided with a circulation system (an electrolyte auxiliary tank 7, a circulating pump 3, and an inlet motor-operated valve 11) which circulates the electrolyte in the liquid resistor main body 8, an electrolyte cooling device 4 serving as a temperature-adjusting system which adjusts the temperature of the electrolyte circulated by the circulation system, a liquid temperature sensor 15 for measuring the temperature of the electrolyte in the liquid resistor main body 8, a liquid temperature sensor 16 for measuring the temperature of the electrolyte in the electrolyte auxiliary tank 7, and an operating unit 5 which operates the mean liquid temperature of the electrolyte, including the electrolyte in the circulation system on the basis of the liquid temperatures measured by the liquid temperature sensors 15, 16, and so controls the circulation system and the electrolyte cooling device 4 that the variations of the pumping start time are eliminated on the basis of the results of the operation and preset pumping start required time.
