To provide a liquid softener composition excellent in perfume retention to a laundry.SOLUTION: An emulsion-type liquid softener composition comprises components (A) and (B) below: (A) one or more cationic surfactants selected from (A-1) and (A-2) below; (A-1) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of amine compounds having one to three hydrocarbon groups of 10 to 26 carbons in a molecule fragmented by an ester group (-COO-) and/or an amide group (-NHCO-), salts thereof and quaternized products thereof, (A-2) a quaternary ammonium salt represented by the (B) below, wherein a content of component (A) is less than 5 mass %, the content of component (B) is 0.01 to 2 mass%, and the mass ratio A/B of component (A) to component (B) is 1 to 200.SELECTED DRAWING: None
