Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a composition having suppressed pH variation in storage and excellent hydrolysis prevention effect of a constituent salt by compounding a specific quaternary ammonium salt with a fatty acid alkanolamine and a nonionic surfactant, thereby adjusting the pH of the composition.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid softening agent composition having improved liquid stability is produced by compounding (A) 3-30wt.% of a di(long-chain) quaternary ammonium salt of formula I [R1 is 16-25C (including dividing group) alkyl or alkenyl divided with an ester or amide group (called as hydrocarbyl group); R2 is the above hydrocarbyl group or 14-24C alkyl, etc.; X is anion] with (B) 0.3-5wt.% of a 16-18C fatty acid alkanolamine salt and (C) 0.1-10wt.% of an alkylene oxide-added nonionic surfactant, thereby adjusting the pH of the composition to 2.5-5. The alkanolamine is e.g. triethanolamine, diethanolamine or methyldiethanolamine.
